With Dan Maff’s impressive title reign close to moving into 2010, possible challengers have been coming out of the woodwork to try to get a championship match with the champ. We’ve had ex-WWE stars try to get to the champ, we’ve had guys like Trent Acid return to the company with the sole intention of taking the belt, and we’ve even had Bandido Jr. ascend to the top of the mountain to get his first title shot after years in the company. Now however, JAPW has received a call from a challenger we never expected.  Well that match has been officially signed and is sure to be extremely personal as at Seasons Beatings 2009, Dan Maff will be taking on CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!

Let’s bust out the way back machine and go back to 2004 when one of the toughest wrestling stables on the planet was going about their business in ROH. This group went by the name The Prophecy, and was led by Christopher Daniels and also consisting of BJ Whitmer and Dan Maff. Maff and Daniels butted heads a few times until Christopher Daniels suddenly departed and left his group leaderless and directionless. To this day, Maff has not forgiven Daniels for abandoning him and Whitmer and hopes to get his much awaited revenge at Seasons Beatings when he FINALLY gets a chance to go one-on-one with him more than 5 years later.

This is sure to be extremely heated and personal and will be a battle between former friends that you don’t want to miss, so be there on November 21st in Rahway to find out if Maff can one-up Daniels and surpass his former mentor or if Daniels will prove once and for all that he was the star of Prophecy and the rightful leader.
