For weeks, we’ve all been anxiously awaiting the reveal of the woman that everyone has been referring to as “she.” Last night on IMPACT the world got their answer as Karen Jarrett made her return to the IMPACT Zone. Before getting down to business, Karen took the time to acknowledge how great it was to be back in the IMPACT Zone surrounded by all of the loving fans. She then proceeded to let everyone know that she and the Jarrett family are determined to Make IMPACT Great. As the story would go, of course a few contentious personalities expressed having a problem with her return and the decisions that were being made. One of those people being Josh Mathews, IMPACT’s lead play-by-play announcer.
It was the slap heard round the world as IMPACT concluded with animosity it in the air. From what we heard from Karen before the interruptions of Josh and EC3, she is returning to IMPACT to set things straight. She’s back in the game to put her foot down on all the controversy and chaotic behavior that has been evolving for too long. Karen Jarrett is in IMPACT Wrestling to bring the company back to what it was when it started in 2002.
We have noticed immediate changes take place since Karen has been back in the picture. To state the obvious, Jeremy Borash now resides as the third man on commentary. Furthermore, Rockstar Spud is the new in-ring announcer. Earlier this week in a video that was released digitally Spud told the world that “she,” being Karen, had a huge hand in why he has the role he does now. But we have to wonder, what else is she looking to change? If we think about all of the possibilities that serve as endless options for Karen, our minds get lost in what her motives truly are. Last night on IMPACT when the fans chanted “fire Josh,” she made the remark, “I’ll put that on my list of things to do.” If in fact Karen Jarrett holds the power to do things like hiring and firing, the entire locker room has officially been put on notice. Additionally, in 2011 Karen served as the commissioner of the Knockouts Division aligning herself with Madison Rayne and Gail Kim. Knowing that both women are still part of the Knockouts Division today, will it be an easy transition for Karen to bring her focus back to the ladies of IMPACT?
It may be uncertain as to what exactly Karen has plans to change, but we do know that IMPACT is beginning a new era and the company as a whole is eager to give the fans what they want and deserve, an intention that was always a cornerstone of the brand since its inception. As a viewer, you can expect to see more of Karen Jarrett in the near future as she continues her journey of making IMPACT Great.
